Week 7: Lights, Camera, Action

Event: The Barnwood Summer Film Festival

The spotlight is on and the cameras are rolling at Highland Saddle Club. This week, campers become the stars of their very own movie adventure as they prepare for the biggest premiere of the summer, the Barnwood Summer Film Festival.

From the moment they arrive, campers step into the world of movies, acting, creativity, and confidence building. Whether they dream of being the star of the show, the director behind the scenes, or the action hero of the barn, every camper gets their chance to shine.

Each day includes movie themed challenges like scene reenactments, acting games, spotlight competitions, obstacle course “stunt training,” riding challenges, and team games that help campers earn awards and prepare for the final big premiere.

Horseback riding remains the center of the week as campers complete themed riding games and challenges inspired by famous movie moments. Riders may take part in action scene obstacle courses, western movie challenges, or red carpet riding events designed to make every lesson exciting.

Campers will also create crafts like movie posters and star badges while participating in dress up days and fun themed events that bring the Hollywood feeling to the barn.

Camp staff become directors, judges, talent scouts, and sometimes dramatic movie villains who keep the competition exciting all week long.

By Friday, the week ends with the final Barnwood Film Festival Showcase where campers perform, ride, and celebrate everything they have accomplished during the family horse show.

Lights, Camera, Action is all about confidence, creativity, and giving every camper their moment in the spotlight.
